Colour and style consulting or personal shopping: which do I need?
Colour and style consulting shows you which colours and cuts suit you. In a wardrobe check-up we look at what you already own, at your home, and how it can be combined. In personal shopping we go shopping with you. If you are starting out, begin with colour and style consulting. Lawrence Fashion, the bespoke tailor at Löwenplatz in Zurich, offers all three.
What is colour and style consulting?
In colour and style consulting we find out which colours and styles bring out your character best. With that knowledge you dress with confidence and avoid buying the wrong things.
This is how it works: in the atelier we lay cloths in different colours around your shoulders, in daylight and without your own clothes distracting from them. You see for yourself which colours make your face look fresher and which make it look tired. Then we turn to style: which cuts, lengths and proportions suit your figure, and what you want to wear at work and in your free time.
You take your colours home in a colour fan that you can hold next to a garment when you shop. Allow about two hours.
What is a wardrobe check-up?
In a wardrobe check-up we visit you at home and go through your wardrobe with you. We look at it piece by piece: what suits you and gets worn, what can be combined in new ways, and what has hung there unworn for years.
Afterwards you know which garments suit you best and have new combinations for what is already there. Pieces you are attached to but that no longer fit can be given new life through upcycling in our atelier. Allow two to three hours.
What is personal shopping?
In personal shopping we go with you to the shops as stylist and personal shopper. We help you sort through colours, trends and styles and show you what goes together and with your wardrobe.
Beforehand we talk about what you need, for example for a new job, an occasion or a trip. That way we go straight to the shops that fit. Allow about half a day.
What should I bring to colour and style consulting?
Ideally come without make-up or with very little, so that your natural colouring shows. Bring two or three favourite pieces you feel good in, and one piece you bought but hardly ever wear. Both say a lot about what suits you. If you wear glasses, bring them along.
Is the consulting for men too?
Yes. Colours, cuts and proportions matter just as much in menswear, from the suit to the shirt and the tie. Many men come for style consulting before a change at work, or when they want to rebuild their business wardrobe. Etiquette and body language consulting is also for women and men.

How often do I need colour consulting?
Usually once. Your colours hardly change over many years. After a bigger change, such as a new hair colour, a short appointment to check your colours is worth it. You can repeat the style consulting at any time, for example before a new job.

With colour and style consulting. It is the basis for the other two. The wardrobe check-up then shows what is already there, and personal shopping adds what is missing. You can also book each one on its own.

Then we make it to measure, by hand in our own atelier: womenswear, menswear and childrenswear. Your colours and your style then go straight into the choice of fabric and the cut.
